Laura Louise Clark {Lolo}
Laura Louise Clark (Lolo), 67, of Jackson, WI passed away on Friday May 9th, 2025.
Lolo was born June 18, 1957, in Norfolk, VA, the daughter of Alvira and Jackie Clark. The family later settled in Beloit, WI, where she graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1975. During her senior year, she received the Porter Scholarship to study for a year at Beloit College. She later graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a bachelor’s degree in education and minor in Spanish.
Lolo, a passionate and well-loved teacher, spent her entire 40-plus year career at Friess Lake School, Hubertus, WI, teaching middle school math, English, and Spanish. A highlight for her was planning the annual eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C., which included speaking with Wisconsin congressional representatives. Developing a strong curriculum and teaching Spanish was truly her passion and she was proud to prepare those students to go on to study the language in high school.
During her life, Lolo touched many people – hundreds of students, family members, teachers and community members. Lolo loved crafting and her card ministry; creative arts; cooking and baking; American History: and volunteering. She was active in her church and enjoyed Bible studies; book clubs; genealogy; and animals. Lolo was instrumental in helping organize fundraisers on behalf of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
She is survived by four brothers, Jim (Sue) of Manitowoc, WI; Tom (Cindy) of Merrillan, WI; Tim (Heather) of Cottage Grove, MN, and Denny (Mary) of Eau Claire, WI; two sisters, Teresa Derfus of Stratford WI, and Paula (Dan) LeVahn of Bloomington, MN.She is also survived by nieces and nephews, including Codi Hurd, Tomi Clark, Josh Derfus, Will Clark, Kathryn Miller, Sarah Immelman, Lauren Clark, Emily Clark, Erin Tomaszewski, Isaac LeVahn, Trent LeVahn, and several great nieces and nephews.
